Ember Daily Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 8, 2026

Ember Daily (also referred to in-app as X Daily Bookmark) helps you view one meaningful bookmark from your X account each day.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect and process information needed to provide core app features:

  • X account authorization data: OAuth access and refresh tokens needed to access your bookmarks.
  • X account identifier: Your X user ID, used to fetch your bookmarks and associate subscription status.
  • Bookmark content from X: Bookmark text, author metadata, media preview URLs, bookmark folder metadata, and permalink URLs used to generate your daily pick.
  • Subscription status data: Purchase/entitlement status and renewal/expiration metadata from RevenueCat and your app store account.
  • Local app state: Cached settings and daily pick data stored on-device (including widget-related state).

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

  • Connect to your X account and fetch bookmarks/folders you authorize.
  • Select and display your daily bookmark in the app and widget.
  • Manage paywall access, trial/premium status, and restore purchases.
  • Store app preferences (for example, bookmark source/folder selection).
  • Support app reliability and troubleshooting.

Bookmark availability depends on the data X makes accessible through its APIs. Based on X's published integration guidance, some bookmark retrieval endpoints may be limited to a recent reachable window (for example, the most recent approximately 800 bookmarks), which means older bookmarks may be unavailable to Ember Daily even if you still have them saved on X.

3. Storage and Security

  • Sensitive credentials (such as X OAuth tokens and account identifiers) are stored in the iOS Keychain.
  • Non-sensitive app state is stored locally using app group storage to support app and widget behavior.
  • We use reasonable safeguards, but no method of storage/transmission is 100% secure.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

To operate the app, information is exchanged with:

  • X (Twitter/X Corp): for authentication and bookmark/folder retrieval.
  • RevenueCat: for subscription entitlement and purchase restoration.
  • Apple: for in-app purchase and account-related platform services.

Each third-party service processes data under its own policies.

5. Analytics

At present, event logging is used primarily for app behavior tracking in development/debug contexts. If production analytics tooling is introduced, this policy will be updated.

6. Your Choices

Inside the app, you can:

  • Disconnect your X account.
  • Delete local app data using the app’s data deletion controls.
  • Restore purchases from the paywall/settings experience.

Because bookmarks are sourced from X, bookmark/folder data on X is controlled through your X account.

7. Children’s Privacy

Ember Daily is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. International Users

Your information may be processed by third-party providers in jurisdictions outside your own country, subject to those providers’ safeguards and policies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted at this URL with a revised “Last updated” date.
